Back in Canada

I just got back to Canada again after spending Spring Reading Week in Florida. I went to visit Cora and also go fishing with Mike. Unfortunately my flight down got canceled and I had to fly down the next day (I guess we can't do much about the weather). At any rate, I had a great time even though we didn't get to go fishing. Good spending time with friends. And yes, I did get some reading done :-) Thanks Cora for being so supportive hehe. Pictures to follow.

Saturday fun with the CanIL gang

On Saturday a group of friends from school went bowling. I'd never been bowling in Canada before but had heard rumors that it was different from bowling elsewhere. You bowl with a smaller ball with no little holes for your fingers, and you try to knock down five small pins, getting 5 points for the middle one, 3 for the ones next to it, and 2 for the outside pins (to sum it up in one sentence). It was a lot of fun. You can really hurl that little ball. I also found it much easier to control the spin (control is a relative term). Below are a few shots (from the top: me trying to knock down that last pin, the gang)

After a successful first try at Canadian bowling we went to Nathan's house to eat pizza and play Risk. I hadn't played risk since oh, about 5 years ago, and I guess now you play it with 4 missions (I liked the old way better). I came in third :-) lol. I won't comment on who won.

Back in Canada - Snow

Today was my second day at school back in Canada. It's been snowing pretty much all day and still is. I guess the picture looks kinda dark and gloomy but it's really quite beautiful. I'm looking forward to this my last semester. I'll be taking three classes (Greek Exegesis II, Christianity and Culture, and Tonal Analysis). I'm also a teacher's assistant in Phonology. So, my semester should be fairly busy but I doable. God will help me through.
It was great to see everyone again at school. I know I've only been gone for three weeks but when you see people every day you miss them when you're away. Also had a great time yesterday seeing some of the people from church at Grub and Grow (Dinner/Bible Study/Prayer meeting). Look forward to a great semester there too.

Sea World

Cora and I went to Sea World on January 2nd. Highlights included the Shamu Show (killer whales doing all sorts of tricks - man those things are huge), riding the Kraken roller coaster (though Cora enjoyed it, my left ear is still ringing from her screams), and the show with the whale/dolphin/bird show. I had a great time. Maybe one day I'll get to go back. Thank you Cora for the ticket and the company.

Ribbe - Merry Christmas

Ribbe, mmmm.
Well yesterday we celebrated Christmas. I had just gotten of the plan from New York. My flight was about an hour delayed. But I made it home, took a shower, jumped into my suit, and went to church with mom, Kristin and Ozzy. Then we went home and had lovely Christmas dinner. Ribbe is pork ribs baked in the oven. Yummy yummy. We eat it with potatoes, sauerkraut, lingenberries, and some kinda Christmas sausages. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

Well, tomorrow I leave to go to Oregon for a wedding. Am looking forward to a relaxing Christmas. It's been pretty hectic. I was up all night last night working on a paper. I still have a bit of stuff to wrap up for one class, but I still have a couple of days before the weekend. Well, I'll try to update with some Christmas stuff once I take some pictures. Oh, and congratulations to Jono and Janice on little baby Samuel David.

24-31 Dec. Oslo Norway - Christmas cheer with the family!
31 Dec. - 9 Jan. Jacksonville, Fl - visiting someone I hopefully know even better

I'm on Christmas vacation down in Florida. Here I am playing Golf at Brable Ridge in Lakeland where my good friends Mike, Jacinda, and Jeremy live. This is me having a sweet sweet shot at Jeremy. All in all we had a good time although our play was somewhat under par (or over if we're in the realm of golf). Good times.

Was just looking through some of my recent photos and saw this one. Took it about a month ago at a friend's country hideout in washington state. Nice eh? Was a nice relaxing day before we headed back to school for the fall. I miss it allready. Things are fairly hectic these days. Looking at this pictuer helps though :-). Thanks Ames!
